Fundraising Protocol
An organizations that is registered as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization is allowed to issue income tax receipts for donations of $10 and over. Donations must be mailed directly to such organizations. Typically, if you need tax receipts for donations from an organization, then include the following information for each donor:
  • Full name, street address, city, state, zip code
  • Amount of money donated
Make sure that the recipient organization follows certain rules, such as:
  • Saving all cancelled checks and forms of correspondence with donors and partners in developing countries.
  • Being responsible for every penny it receives and being able to show, in the form of letters, photos and bills, that its partners received donated funds and used them to help children, according to your specifications.
All checks must be made out to the registered name of the organization, ensuring that it has a Bank account with the same name.
