Inter-Agency Round Table on the Elimination of Child Labor and Achieving EFA
The third Inter-Agency Round Table on Child Labor and Education took place in Beijing, China on November 28, 2005, on day one of UNESCO's fifth High-Level Group on Education for All, November 28-30. The event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, People's Republic of China, ILO, UNESCO, UNICEF and The World Bank.
As a result, paragraph 20 of the final Communiqué (outcome document) of UNESCO's High Level Group on Education for All reads:
"We acknowledge that child labour is a major obstacle to achieving EFA. We welcome the establishment of the Global Task Force on Child Labour and Education as a further step in enabling children to stop working and enjoy a quality education. We endorse its proposed role for advocacy, coordination and research in this field."
